Connecting

The first thing you do with the Nonbl client is connect it to your server.

The leftmost button on the toolbar is the connect / disconnect button. Its icon tells you the current state:

IconMeaning
DisconnectedYou are offline. Click to open the login dialog.
Cloud syncA connection attempt is in progress. Click to cancel.
ConnectedYou are online. Click to disconnect (after confirmation).

The same information is shown in the status bar at the bottom: a coloured dot and a text label — red / Disconnected, yellow / Connecting…, green / Connected.

Clicking the button while disconnected opens the login dialog:

  1. Region — pick a server endpoint from the dropdown. Built-in cloud endpoints are listed by name; if you use a self-hosted server, add it via Configuration → Settings → Connection.

  2. Slot — the name of your slot on that server. This is the logical workspace your tasks live in.

  3. Username and Password — your credentials for that slot. Use the eye icon next to the password field to show or hide what you typed.

  4. Press OK (or Enter).

The slot name, username, and last endpoint are remembered for next time. Passwords are never saved.

The password rules, what happens after failed sign-ins, and how to recover a disabled password are in Passwords and Sign-In.

Click the connect button while connected. A confirmation dialog appears — click Yes to disconnect.

Once disconnected:

  • All open forms and tabs close.
  • The main menu (hamburger button) is disabled.
  • The status-bar dot turns red and the label reads Disconnected.

If connection details have been saved (slot and endpoint), the login dialog opens automatically on startup. You only need to enter your password.

To stop auto-opening the dialog, clear your saved slot in Configuration → Settings → Connection.
