Paging Lists

Every list a Slot or a station shows is served a page at a time: Users, Roles, Tasks, Devices, Stations, Extensions, Logs, Statuses, and the lists extensions add. A page holds at most lists.pageRows rows, 100 unless the host’s owner sets another number.

Under a list, the pager states where the page sits: its first and last rows, and how many rows match. It offers:

  • First, the list’s first page;
  • Previous and Next, the pages beside this one;
  • Last, the list’s last page.

A button the page has nowhere to go with is disabled. A column’s header states whether the list can be sorted by it and how it can be filtered, in the server’s words. The pager, the sort and the filter all come from what the server states, so a list that cannot be sorted by a column never offers to.

Rows that change while a page is open arrive as they always do: the row updates in place, appears or goes.

The SDK’s RowList serves a paged list in one call, from SQL, a ring of lines or rows held in memory. The SDK guide docs/row-paging.md walks through it.
