Report

The Report operation renders a Mustache template by substituting placeholders with data from its inputs. Use it to build dynamic text — plain strings, formatted messages, HTML pages, or anything else that can be expressed as a template.

An empty Template renders an empty string, and the Editor marks the Template field with a warning until it is filled.

Inputs

PortTypeRequiredDescription
> (Gate)AnyNoWhen connected, a false or Nil value stops the path. See Gate Inputs.
DataUser-configurableYesTemplate data, referenced by input number (2—21). Up to 20 connectable inputs. Each Data port’s accepted MessagePack types are set in the Node’s Settings panel — see Setting Port Types.

Outputs

PortTypeDefaultDescription
OutString""The rendered template result. Unchanged when the gate blocks execution.

Properties

NameTypeDefaultDescription
TemplateString (multi-line)""The Mustache template to render.
Fallback ValueString""Replaces any placeholder that cannot be resolved.
On ErrorComboStop this branchPer-op On Error verb (Stop this branch / Continue with the last value / Continue with the fallback). See the Error Handling guide.

State on Reload

Output is preserved across restarts within the configured time window.

Inputs are referenced by their input number (the Gate is input 1; data inputs start at 2):

PlaceholderMeaning
{{2}}Value of the first data input
{{2.1}}Index 1 (second element) of an array in input 2
{{5.data.3}}Key data, then index 3, inside input 5
{{#2}}...{{/2}}Section — iterates if input 2 is an array
{{^2}}...{{/2}}Inverted section — renders when input 2 is falsy/empty

  1. Gate check — If a Gate Input is connected, evaluate it. A false or Nil value stops the execution path; the output keeps its previous value. If the gate is not connected, the operation always runs.

  2. Render template — The Mustache engine processes the Template, resolving each placeholder against the connected data inputs. Unresolvable placeholders are replaced with the Fallback Value.

  3. Output — The rendered string is written to the output and downstream operations continue.

Template: Value: {{2.1}}

Input 2: [100, 200, 300]

Output: Value: 200

Index 1 of input 2’s array is the second element (200).

  • Generating dynamic HTML reports and dashboards
  • Formatting notification messages (email, SMS, alerts)
  • Building structured payloads for downstream operations
  • Displaying sensor data in user interfaces

  • Template syntax follows the Mustache spec; invalid syntax produces undefined results.
  • Maximum 20 data inputs (plus the gate).
  • Partials ({{> ...}}) are not available.
